Handyman services — by a crew with no legal ceiling

In Virginia, an unlicensed handyman legally tops out at $1,000 per job and can never touch plumbing, electrical, or HVAC. Our handyman crew works under a Class A contractor's license — so the small job gets done completely, correctly, and insured.

Small jobs, done right

What we take on

No project too small — and none of the "that part needs another guy" runaround, because our license covers the trades an unlicensed handyman legally can't:

When the "small job" turns out to be a bigger one — rot that runs deeper, a panel that's out of capacity — nothing changes. Same company, same license, same crew, straight up to a full renovation. That's the point of hiring a Class A contractor for small work.

Handyman questions, answered

Do I need a permit for small home repairs?

Usually not. The Virginia building code exempts ordinary repairs, like-for-like window and door replacement, re-roofing and re-siding on single-family homes, fences, and one-story sheds under 256 sq ft. Anything structural — or new electrical, plumbing, or mechanical work — still needs a permit, and we pull it when it does.

Should I DIY it or hire someone?

DIY the cosmetic work you can safely redo — paint, hardware, caulk. Hire out anything involving water, electricity, structure, or heights. Botched DIY in those four categories is the most common source of expensive repair calls, and unpermitted trade work can complicate a home sale later.

Is a licensed company worth it for small jobs?

Yes, three ways: no $1,000 ceiling means the whole job gets done, not the first thousand dollars of it; insurance protects your home if something goes wrong; and small jobs are how we earn the big ones — so they get real craftsmanship, not drive-by work.
